Acer AspireRevo with Dual-Core Atom, Available in the U.S!
Acer has finally decided to add Intel's dual-core Atom 330 to the AspireRevo 3600 series. The Revo will be practically the same as the previous models with NVidia ION graphics except that is will be be dual-core with the Atom 330 instead of the single-core Atom 230 - which many of us will agree does not cut it for the Revo.
There is not yet any information about official pricing or release details, although NCIXUS USA shows the Atom 330 model for $370...in the USA, which will get you the Revo with Atom 330, 2Gb of Ram, Vista Home Premium and a 160GB hard drive.
Anyone extremely happy by this news?!

I just received mine in from FedEx. It was shipped from Canada from NCIXUS, and when you boot it up the first time it has a Canadian flavor, (asking if you want Canadian-English or French). Havent had time to mess with it but the final cost was around 390 with fed ex shipping. It was actually shipped from Vancouver

I just tried to order. It says “In Stock”. Even checking stock shows it available. When you click “Add to shopping cart”, however, it says unavailable!
Oh well…

Where is the Linux version, or will Acer follow Asus’ Eeebox range by enforcing that we all have to pay an MS tax for an unwanted operating system?

Actually, more searching today reveals a part number for the dual-core Linux edition: 92.NVDYZ.UI0. Excellent!

I bought my Revo on Sept. 18 at the Tiger Direct Canada store, the first day that it was in stock. It works very well for what it is. The dual core processor really helps it out. Graphics are excellent compared to the Intel graphics on previous Atom boards. Very quiet and does not heat up, even if left on all the time. Great second computer or HTPC. I’m putting mine in my Blazer to use as a car pc.
