AspireRevo Officially in U.S, at Newegg
The Acer AspireRevo is officially on sale in the U.S, available at Newegg.com for $200. Interestingly to note that it is using the NVIDIA ION LE instead of the usually ION.
Netbooked also mentions its the one model currently available and is only using the single core Atom 230 processor (1.6GHz), 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, ION LE graphics, Gigabit LAN and Windows XP Home. Also note that it does not come with the wireless keyboard and mouse, instead it comes with a wired keyboard and mouse.
My advise would probably to wait it out, until they have the full ION and dual-core specifications available.

This is a very exciting thing: a $200 Windows XP PC that’s as small as a software box! Silent and fast with HDMI … I am awaiting for it to arrive from newegg.com

I just bought this from newegg.com, and my advise is: DO NOT GET IT! Here are the issues I’m having with it:
1. On my 1080p HDTV, if I set the Revo to 1920×1080, the desktop area extends beyond the TV display area by about 5%. And the pixels do not seem to fit exactly 1:1. On a 720p HDTV, if I set the Revo to 1280×720, again, the desktop area extends beyond the TV display area. There is no way around it.
2. For some reason, audio out through HDMI is only supported on some TVs, but not others. In the cases that it isn’t supported, the “NVIDIA High Definition Audio” option under Audio tab in the Sounds and Audio Device Properties is simply not there.
3. Maybe it’s because it’s an ION LE, and not a full ION, I have NOT found an HD video that will play smoothly. In fact, it is so choppy that it is absolutely unwatchable. I’ve tried mp4 files, divX files, Hulu.com, YouTube HD, Vimeo HD, and others…. nothing plays smoothly in full screen. Even when not in full screen it is choppy.
So again, DO NOT GET THIS. NewEgg is not accepting any return or exchanges for this product. Also, Acer support is ABSOLUTELY useless.
Wait for the full ION with a dual core proc. Better yet, wait for someone to get the specific model of the full ION Revo and write a positive review about it.

To Wayne: I have encountered and solved most of the problems you have had.
1: My TV had an option for two “HD Sizes” the default that cut off the outer edge of the screen, changing this option fixed it to fit perfect.
2. For some reason it seems people have trouble with Philips tvs. I ran this with a Panasonic S1 50″ plasma and sound worked perfect.
3: Flash does not yet support hardware acceleration with any Ion, so no web based HD content works, yet. Expect it to with 10.1 (from what i’ve read. there have been official announcements). The only difference between ION and ION LE is LE lacks DX10.
I installed Windows 7 when I got the machine home because the XP Home that it came with was filled with crap. Installed the latest chipset graphics and hdmi audio drivers and it runs like a dream on the big screen. This box is definitely worth the 200 bucks, and as soon as Adobe gets around to updating Flash, this thing will be flawless.

@ Wayne, try using it with the xbmc live with Nvidia drivers. You will need at least one extra gig of ram. More information here: http://www.xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53888

I just bought this system as a third PC at home and I think that it works great. It will be mainly usede by the kids to surf the internet and so far it hasn’t disappointed us. The price is great.
After reading about XBMC on I downloaded it and installed it and have been able to watch movies that I had converted to MP4 without any issues.
It runs very quiet and so far it has been stable. The only thing that I didn’t like is that it does not include the Vesa mounting kit. I’ve lookede throughout the internet and haven’t found it yet. I do not think that Acer lists it in their products catalog.
After reading the posts above I hooked it up to my widescreen HD rear projector screen and I also have the problem with the image extending outside the display area. Changing the picture size did not help me.
I have a PS3 to watch movies on my screen though, so not being bale to use the Revo with my wide screen will not be a problem.

I bought this PC @ Best Buy. I’ve used it with XBMC and it runs great. I also found that the resolution is large than the actual HD screen. I merely lowered it to the resolution down and it fit nicely. I haven’t found a problem so far. I’ve already upgraded it to 4 gigs RAM and enjoying the movies. Will test further and let you all know.
